Sisk are an innovative, International construction and engineering company, who have 160 years history specialising in the construction industry, spanning over three centuries.

Sisk partnered with a social media giant to deliver a technologically advanced data centre.

This was set to be the most expensive data centre ever delivered.

The data centre was set to be built on the edge of the Artic Circle.

As a result, there were challenging operating conditions, which meant all construction & supply chain activity had to be robustly planned, coordinated and controlled.

The COVID-19 pandemic also presented some of its own challenges, as the principal contractor wanted the collaborative planning & controls delivered digitally to accommodate remote working.

  • LC International were engaged in the Pre Con stage to design & deliver a suite of programme control measures, along with the deployment of a digital collaborative planning solution.

  • We deployed a system that provided the controls & collaborative planning elements, coaching the team to surface potential issues, capture make ready needs and drive certainty across the programme.

  • Using BIM 360 Plan, digital collaboration software & a Lean Planning process – we delivered the package the client wanted.
  • At the start of the project, PPC (planned percentage complete) was not measured. Once a control and measurement system was implemented, immediately there was a rapid increase in the PPC and the number of tasks completed – therefore increasing project delivery certainty.

  • The PPC climbed from 60% to >80%. A project average of 82% has been sustained in tough operating conditions.

  • 8 months on, the process changes have been sustained, teams are in a much better position to deliver against challenging milestones and the client is now working to expand these controls beyond construction into the commissioning phase.
